About Shelley Rahim, RPYT
Shelley Rahim, RPYT, has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. While carrying her third child, she was trained to teach Prenatal Yoga. Shelley studied with internationally renowned instructor, Janice Clarfield at Kripalu Yoga Center in Massachusetts. Completing the training while she was six months pregnant gave her first hand experience in practicing all that she learned. Much of what Shelley practiced throughout her pregnancy was applied during labor and childbirth, increasing her ability to manage the pain and have a beautiful birth experience.
Shelley received her 200 hour Teacher Training in Anusara Yoga from Sherry Shreck in Encinitas, CA and is currently completing her training to become a childbirth educator with Birthing From Within®.
Shelley's prenatal yoga classes prepare women for labor, birth and motherhood on every level. Physically, the strength and flexibility gained protects the joints, helping to alleviate aches and pains and allow women to endure labor with strength and awareness. Emotionally and mentally, Shelley guides women deeply into their own hearts where they are able to tap into the transformational energy of this powerful time in a woman's life, aligning themselves with their own internal power and wisdom, giving them the confidence to birth from this place of grace and beauty. Spiritually, Shelley guides her students through meditations that allow them to deeply experience the gift of oneness that the life growing within gives them. Shelley's classes embody the concept of the Sanskrit word, "Kula" or community, as she brings women together to uplift, support and honor each other as they journey into motherhood together.
